                                                                                          Harrison "Boobie".

Fri, Jun 6, 2008  Harrison Passed away.

On 1-15-2007 I had found my new best friend, Harrison through Heart of Dixie. Sadly to say, yesterday Harrison passed away while I was at work. As I had taken him to the vet in Nov. it was noted that he was well over 10 yrs old. I'm just proud to say our last 1 1/2 years we spent together was enough for a lifetime of memories. My family will miss him greatly. He was my fishing companion, playing companion, whether sitting in the floor rubbing his belly at night watching TV together or playing outside he was always a happy hound.
I nicknamed him "Boobie". I don't know how the name came to be it just happened and he knew both his names. When we would play he would lay his belly and front paws flat on the floor, his jaw on the floor, and his back feet straight until I ran after him and then he would run from me and suddenly stop until I caught up with him and do it again. It's the only time he would howl because he knew he won every time and he would let out a LOUD, LONG HHHHOOOOWWWWLLLL!!!! We had such a great time, me and my Boobie.

I want to thank Heart of Dixie for the past 1 1/2 years with my best friend and know this...there was not a happier hound in the world as far as I could tell. He was buried in the field where he played and the grave marked for all to see. I am proud to be associated with Heart of Dixie and their mission.

Thank You again for a wonderful friend,
Roger

                                  Jubil

Sadly Jubil Passed away  Saturday January 20, 2007, following a week long virus and several visits and stays with our Veterinarian, this loveable guy could no longer fight it.  He was 12 years old.

He'll be remembered for his handsome masculine features, his wonderfully even temperament and his happy personality.  His people had moved away and just left him.  We were called by a good Samaritan neighbor who was feeding him.  We miss you, Jubil.

                               Annabelle

Our founders' Annabelle.  She passed away on:  July 27, 2005

Annabelle hosted 36 fosters in 6 years. She endured fosters
shredding her favorite toys.
She "disciplined" dogs that didn't come in immediately when I
called. She was cranky, and she was loveable. She did what many
bassets can't/won't do: swim-and she loved it.
She was terrified of thunderstorms and fireworks and would come
and Beg!!!! for a "pill" when they would occur.
She was our first basset, and will never be our last!
